Almodôvar Mirror Site

Almodôvar Mirror Site is a work by Henrique Pavão consisting of a wall text, a sequence of slides, and a synchronized sound recording. The work refers to the recognition of two identical locations on opposite sides of the same motorway. Discussing the existence of a non-place (from Marc Augé’s perspective) and the notion of double, the artist investigates the idea of mirror, doppelganger, and the reference to an inverted reality.

The book brings together a collection of texts (by Henrique Pavão, Sérgio Fazenda Rodrigues, Nicolas de Oliveira, and Nicky Oxley) that frame the presentation of the work and mark its exhibition at the SE8 gallery in London.
