Symptomatic of a practice that constantly scrutinises the forms and possibilities of painting, Verónica offers us multiple liquid, expansive images. Besides clearly pictorial elements, the recourse to glass (as a surface that reflects and refracts light) permits a certain broadening – an unfolding – of painting’s visual field. It offers us a cinematic experience. On the one hand, the reflections – of the space, of we the visitors, the light, and so on – convey a kind of «out of body» experience of painting; on the other, the work is just one – and only one, among so many other possibilities – montage of images (i.e, «frames»). In other words, a sequence.
